BOUGE began with a rather ordinary thought: why shouldn't a bar of soap be beautiful?

I wanted something that felt wonderful to use, looked beautiful sitting by the sink, and was made with ingredients chosen with intention. When I couldn't quite find what I had in mind, I decided to make it myself.

What began as curiosity quickly became something of an obsession.

I learned the chemistry. I experimented with oils, butters, clays and scent. I made batch after batch, refining not only the recipe, but the details — the lather, the weight of the bar, the way it feels in your hand, and, of course, the way it looks.

Today, every BOUGE bar is still made by me, in small batches, with that same attention to detail.

Because the things we use every day don't have to be ordinary.
